The Real Life 4 Me Trust
Selly Oak Trust School was one of the first schools in the country, and the very first special school, to grasp the opportunity offered to have a charity running in tandem with the school. In September 2007 the school became a maintained foundation school supported by an incorporated registered charity, The Selly Oak School Trust. In 2013 the Trust Board agreed to re-name the charity to reflect the aims of the organisation and it became The Real Life 4 Me Trust.
The members of the Board of Trustees are as follows:
- Annette Roebuck, Trust Director and Chair, and Foundation Governor.
- Chris Field, Director.
- John Claughton, Director and Foundation Governor.
- Julie Eaton, Director and Headteacher
The Trust controls the land that the school occupies. It directly supports the work of the school through two Foundation Governor representatives.
The purpose of the Foundation Governor role is to ensure that the Memorandum and Articles are fulfilled. They will also:
- Support the wider work of the governing body.
- Advance the education and relieve the needs of the pupils whilst at the
school and beyond school leaving age at 19+.
